I have really appreciated the fact that we have come here and have not had to or have not been allowed to worry about what to eat, take with us. We have been made very welcome. It just reminds of what Jesus said when he sent out his disciples the first time. One of the reasons I wanted to come is that I have always been fascinated about life in ex communist countries, and since becoming a Christian, how the church has survived and begun to grow. Coming here and seeing the people from Ukraine and other countries has encouraged me to pray more for this.

Personally, God has shown himself to me in the welcome we have received and by giving me the right words to say at various times which have spoken across language and cultural barriers. I have been encouraged by the non-nonsense direct approach which teams from other countries have had in challenging people to believe in God.

It has been amazing to see just how far some of the Ukrainian team in particular will go out of their way to serve others. Well I had very few real expectations before coming but I’m sure if I had it would have exceeded all of them. God has shown me how faithful and committed Christians should be. The project has done just what I know God wanted in me which was to get more fired up for the gospel again after a month or so of total laziness. I have however also found it difficult to keep up daily devotional time amongst the many things going on and just wish I had come away having already the fire with which I leave! I hope to be back next year having learned some Russian!

I would like to come back to Ukraine but not alone, with a team from my country. I saw the fear of God, devotion and obedience of the Ukrainian team and I liked it very much. This project was a good testimony for me and to all of the city about the church of God and about God’s love, not just with words but with deeds. I really liked this project and would like such a project to start in our country too – I will pray about it.

I feel like our mission to develop relationships and to share the gospel was a success. God showed himself through the project by the turn out we had on a daily basis. I feel I have been pushed more from my comfort zone, which is a good thing to grow in Christ. The Ukrainian people who were Christians seem well grounded in their faith and will become beacons in the dark of Ukraine to bring the light of Jesus Christ.

2. I have been stretched to think in ways I would not in the States. For example use of tools made for one type of work but used in another – like sheet rock mud tools for cement work.
3. The concept of bringing several teams together from other countries is fabulous – great cross cultural education for all – opens up ideas for other countries to visit/minister to/pray for.
4. I have been challenged to walk closer to our Lord, by the lives of our Ukrainian team mates. What a blessing to see the young people so alive for Christ and by Him (His Power).

Also several people accepted Christ or were interested. All the people here are very mature in their faith. Much more than many people I know. My faith has grown and been enriched. I am so thankful to God that He led me to come here.

My time in Ukraine this year has actually been very close to my expectations of the project in terms of our work in the playground both physical and spiritual. In spite of my very limited information, the project closely corresponded with my expectations. I have seen God working very clearly in the people around me and have been challenged with regard to my relationships with my family and with my Christian friends.

The Ukrainian team as a whole and the families of the Sanborns, Sidenkos andWoods have all been very encouraging for me as examples of Christ working in individual lives in everyday situations. I intend to take as much as possible from my experiences with these families and friendship groups and try to apply it to aspects of my own relationships.

God’s love for the teams this year has reflected out from them and the great work that I feel we achieved in the playground can be directly attributed to God’s guiding hand and ready presence.

This mission trip has been such an amazing experience. The Ukrainian team along with all the others have been absolutely awesome. I think that we got a lot of what we wanted accomplished. It was great to be able to work and build relationships with the children around us. God has really showed me that even when I didn’t think something was possible, it was. I have learned to trust God more what it comes to telling about His word – that it is all in His hands after the door is opened. God has really showed himself to me through other people and through the work on the playground. I feel that I have grown even more in my relationship with Christ through this mission trip. I can’t really put into words how much this Mission Impossible project means to me. I really thank God for the opportunity I have had and for all of the people I have met.

Why do I want to be involved in this Mission Impossible project?

I have never been on a missions trip before and I’m really excited about going to Ukraine. Ever since I heard about this missions trip I have been very interested. I am excited to see how God will use me during my trip. I love meeting new people and I can’t wait to be apart of a different culture.

The main reason for my desire to be apart of this project is to spread God’s Word. Like God tells us to be lights unto the darkness and to spread His word to all nations, I want to be a tool for God. I know He will use me and the people around me for his glorification and ultimate purpose.

I can’t wait to meet all of the different people. It is amazing how people can live so many miles apart yet know and love the same God. I look forward to the new relationships I will be building with everyone and the experiences I will be sharing with them. I know God will use each on of us for His special purpose.

God has really answered many of my prayers in regards to the preparation of this trip. It is neat to see how so many people in my community have been praying for me and helping me financially. I just can’t wait for God to use me to spread His Word.
