I received great pleasure from the project:

1. First of all, I am glad that I lived through the day not in vain. All the same I would sleep, eat or do nothing during that time.

2. Secondly, I became a closer friend to those, to whom before I would only say “hello, how are you?”

3. Thirdly, I received a T-shirt free of charge.

The project reminded me of a motto “Not with the word only, but with action”. I would correct it a bit “With the word and with the action”. We all are great talkers, but when it comes to actually doing something there are less volunteers. “Mission” helped me to keep balance between my word from God and my deeds for God.

Besides while working with the person, going through difficulties together, such difficulties like falling of the plaster or lack of paint, you see who he/she really is, you see his/her character. It is a wonderful opportunity to choose a faithful friend ot maybe even a life’s companion I also would like to notice that difficulties – that’s good and bad organization helps there but only there…

After the project one factor appeared that does not let me to go abroad – my parents: time will pass and they will become like those grandmothers and grandfathers that we were helping. Who else if not their son will take care of them (unless some weird fellows from “MI 2030″)

And the last thing. I made one conclusion: it is pleasant to relax and to work with good people. That is why next year (if we live to that) I plan to be a part of “Mission”. It does not matter if I am a leader or participant, it will be interesting and fun anyway.

What will change if I take part in this project?

I would like a foreteller to answer that question. And when I thought about it, I set another goal: what would I like to be changed because of my participation in the project? The answer is as follows:

First of all, I would like to change my self through this project; I would like to change my attitude to God. I noticed that I tell other people about Jesus and His death for our life less frequently than I tell my mother how things are at the university (and believe me I talk about it with my mom very rarely). I also see in me fear of taking responsibility. But I should start sometime!!! I am sure that MI8 will help to change me in the first place.

Secondly I want this project (with my help, of course) to change the impression of God for the better of as many as possible its young participants.

I think Jesus teaching is like fruit: everyone who eats them receives benefit from the vitamins they contain and pleasure from their wonderful taste. Those, who tried ‘fruit’, who understood that they are more useful than ‘fast food’ which is so widespread in the world, they know that there are many fruit and they put them into ‘bags’ (form of reaching people) and bring them to people (outreach event).

Some of fruit taste connoisseurs put them into such bags that the fruit could be even made out of gold, but no one would ever look on them: and we see that worldly ‘fast food’ has beautiful wrappings. I have noticed that a stereotype formed in the world: Christianity is boring, Christians are always a step behind the rest of the world. There is nothing strange in it: those who say that look at the ‘bags’…

Therefore. It seems to me according to previous projects (I heard a lot about them, took part in MI7) that “MI” is a great bag for God’s fruit. It is funny and interesting here and they make you use your brain and muscles as well. People all over the world pay big money to receive at least one thing from this list. And here you can have everything, notice absolutely free of charge!!! (every Ukrainian will appreciate the statement). Plus in conclusion they find out there is something inside the ‘bag’ they awfully liked, and this something is infinitely more important and valuable than the bag itself.

You do not need a foreteller to say that – it will change minds of those who will take part in the project.

I also want (let it be thirdly) my relationships with its organizers to become stronger after participation in Mission Impossible this year than they were before (who knows, maybe one day David will call me his friend). One man can’t win a war, and if I were a part of the team like that, maybe I would bring more benefit.

And finally, the last thing. I would like the project that will be done this year to change “Mission Impossible” itself. You may say, it cannot be changed further. Still you cannot have too much experience, too much patience. The question arises: how does that concerns me? The answer – I am an amazing patience trainer. You can be patient with me; you can be patient with anyone.

I am sure that if this changes, then Cherkassy will partially change for the better. And there is much to gain from to us, we live here…
